Appropriate application methods of pesticide auxiliary
Although pesticide auxiliary has no biological activity, the selection of auxiliary will have important influence on the effect of pesticide preparations. For example, the mixed emulsifiable concentrate that contains 10 percents of propanil and 30 percents of diesel oil will have similar effect on killing grass with 20 percents of propanil emulsifiable concentrate that contains no diesel oil, however, the dosage of propanil will differ by one time; when using Bordeaux mixture, by adding 0.2-0.3 percent of bone glue, it can become resistant to rain wash and can improve the disease prevention effect. By properly using the pesticide auxiliary, it can improve the safety of drug on the plant and reduce the toxicity to human beings and livestock.
a. Filler. It can be used in diluting the pesticides and insecticides and reduce the technical dosage, thus the technical can be easy to smash by the machines and the dispersity of technical will be improved. It is a kind of filling material that used in producing powder and wettable powder, such as clay, argil, kaolin, kieselguhr, pyrophyllite, talcum powder and so on.
b. Wetting agent. It is a kind of auxiliary that can reduce the surface tension of water. When it is sprayed on the substance surface, it will be easy to wet and spread on the substance surface and improve the control efficiency, such as tea seed cake, paper making waste, washing powder, nekal BX and so on.
c. Emulgator. It is a kind of auxiliary that can help two kinds of phase liquid that were not miscible to each other (such as oil and water) form nontransparent or semitransparent EC liquid, such as sulfonated castor oil, diglycerol sodium laurate, castor oil polyoxyethylene ether, alkyl phenyl poly ethyl ether.
d. Anti degradation agent. It is a kind of auxiliary that can prevent the degradation of effective composition in the storing process. This kind of auxiliary once has been divided into stabilizer, for example, it will be added in some emulsion so as to improve the stability of emulsion.
e. Synergist. Although it has no insecticidal and bactericidal effect, it can be used as the auxiliary in improving these two kinds of effect.
f. Solvent. It is a kind of auxiliary that can dissolve the pesticides used in farming and is commonly used in processing EC pesticide, such as benzene, xylene and so on.
g. Dispersing agent. It can be divided into two kinds. One is called pesticide concentrate dispersing agent that has high viscosity. By using it under mechanical action, the molten pesticide will be dispersed into colloid particles, such as waste sticky honey concentrate, paper making waste concentrate and so on; the other one is called dispersing agent of pesticide preparation, which can prevent the flocculation of powder, thus the powder pesticide will be well dispersed when spraying.
h. Adhesive. It is a kind of auxiliary that can improve the adhesiveness of pesticide on the solid surface. When the adhesiveness of pesticide is improved, it can be resistant to rain wash and improve pesticide residual effect. For example, mineral oil that has high adhesiveness will be added in the powder and a certain amount of starch paste and gelatin will be added in THE liquid pesticide.
i. Stabilizer. It also can be called anticoagulation and can prevent the physical property (the suspensibility may be reduced) of pesticide preparation (wettable powder) from reducing in the storing process.
