Physic-chemical properties of abamectin
Abamectin TC fine powder appears to be white or yellow crystalline (which contains more than 90 percents of Bla); its vapor pressure is less than 200npa and its melting point is in the range of 150 degrees Celsius to 155 degrees Celsius; at 21 degrees Celsius, its solubility is 7.8μg/l in water, 100mg/ml in acetone, 20mg/ml in ethyl alcohol, 19.5mg/ml in methyl alcohol, 10mg/ml in chloroform, 6mg/ml in cyclohexane and 70mg/ml in isopropanol; besides, it will not easy to decompose under room temperature. For example, at 25 degrees Celsius, it will not decompose in the solutions that have the PH value from 5 to 9. Abamectin ointment, the most commonly used pesticide, is a kind of accessory that generated after refining abamectin fine powder, which is packaged in xylene dissolved EC and the content is in the range of 3 percents to 7 percents.
The action mode and characteristics of abamectin
Abamectin, which has contact action, stomach action and high penetrability, is a kind of macrocyclic lactones disaccharides compound. It is also a kind of natural product that segregates from soil microbe, which has contact action, stomach action and weak fumigation on insects and mites, but it has no systemic action on them. However, as it has high penetrability to blades, it can kill the pests that exist under the leave epidermis and will have long residual life. It will not kill eggs. Compared with ordinary pesticides, it has different mechanism actions, which are as follows: it can obstruct the neural physiological activities and stimulate the release of r-aminobutyric acid that will have inhibiting effect on the nerve conduction of arthropods, under this condition, mites, nymphs, insects and larva will be paralyzed once contacting with the drug and will not act or feed until die in 2-4 days. As it will not lead to the rapid dehydration, it will have slow lethal action on the insects. Although it has direct killing effect on the predatory and parasitic natural enemies, it will have little damage to the beneficial insects as it will have little residue on the plant surface. Besides, it has obvious effect on root-knot nematodes.
The toxic symptoms of abamectin insecticide are as follows: there will be pupil dilation, action disorders and muscle tremors in the early symptoms. Generally, it will lead to the highly coma of patients.
Acute treatments of abamectin are as follows: per os (induce vomiting immediately and take ipecac syrup or ephedrine); but do not induce vomiting or pour anything for the coma patients. When rescuing, avoid using the drugs that can enhance γ-aminobutyric acid activity, such as barbital, valproic acid and so on.
Notes of abamectin are as follows: a. protective measures are needed in the drug delivery process, for example, wear a mask and so on; b. as it is high toxic for fish, it should be avoided polluting water source, ponds and so on; c. it is high toxic for silkworm, which will still have obvious killing effect on the silkworm after spraying the drug in 40 days; d. as it is toxic for bees, it should not be used in the flowering period; e. spraying it last time 20 days ahead of the harvest time.
The toxicity of abamectin pesticide is as follows: abamectin TC is high toxic, which can degrade rapidly in the soil.
The application methods of abamectin
a. In order to control diamondback moth and cabbage caterpillar, 2 percents of abamectin EC in 1000-1500 times + 1 percent of emamectin benzoate in 1000 times can be used in the young larva stage, which can effectively control the damage and will have 90 percents to 95 percents of control effect on the diamondback moth and more than 95 percents of control effect on the cabbage caterpillar after spraying it in 14 days.
b. In order to control lithocolletis ringoniella, leaf miner, phytomyza atricornis meigen, serpentine leafminer, vegetable whitefly and other pests, 1.8 percents of abamectin EC in 3000-5000 times + 1000 times of high chloride can be sprayed in the egg hatching stage and young larva stage, which will still have more than 90 percents of control effect after 7-10 days of drug delivery.
c. In order to control beet armyworm, 1.8 percents of abamectin EC in 1000 times can be used, which will still have more than 90 percents of control effect after 7-10 days of drug delivery.
d. In order to control spider mites, gall mites, yellow tea mites and various aphids of fruit trees, vegetables, grains and other crops, 1.8 percents of abamectin EC in 4000-6000 times can be sprayed.
e. In order to control vegetable root knot nematode, 2 percents of abamectin EC can be sprayed on each acre with 500ml, of which the control effect can reach 80 percents to 90 percents.
a. As abamectin has no systemic action, it should be sprayed evenly, carefully and thoroughly.
b. It should not be mixed with alkaline pesticide.
c. It should not be sprayed at noon in summer.
d. Stay away from high temperature and fire source when storing it.
e. Stop spraying it before 20 days of the harvest time.
f. Avoid contacting with skin or splashing into eyes, if this situation happens, wash immediately with clear water and consult a doctor.
