Plant growth regulator is a kind of substance that has plant hormone activity and is synthesized by artificially counterfeiting the chemical structure of plant hormone or it can be extracted from microorganism. As plant growth regulator can promote or inhibit the growth and development of plant, it has been widely used in agriculture industry. Plant growth regulator is a kind of pesticide as well as is also a kind of organic compound that has natural hormone activity and is artificially synthesized. It has been found that the substances that can regulate the growth and development of plant mainly include auxin, gibberellin, ethene, cytokinin, abscisic acid, brassinolide, diethylaminoethyl hexanoate, forchlorfenuron (KT-30), compound sodium nitrophenolate, 6-BA, sodium naphthalene-1-acetate, 5-nitroguaiacol sodium salt, indolebutyric acid and so on.
